2001 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard 5 string Banjo

This is a gorgeous 2001 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard with a Kulesh Tone Ring. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is a copy of the banjo that was played for years by Earl Scruggs. The Scruggs Banjo was a Granada that had nickel hardware and an ebony fretboard. That is what this is.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The neck and resonator are curly maple and this has nickel hardware. The fretboard is ebony with a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern. There is w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This is all original except for a new armrest. Almost nobody would know the armrest is not original because it is a Gibson style armrest.

I have a close up of the Gibson logo on the headstock and this also has upgraded amber pearl. This is a golden pearl that is not nicer, more desirable and more attractive than normal pearl.

This has a Gibson USA one piece flange and also a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring. The tailpiece is a Presto Tailpiece. This is absolutely gorgeous and also includes an original hardshell case.

Condition

We professionally clean every banjo that comes through here. This has been disassembled and all of the metal has been buffed and the wood waxed. This is truly glowing with a really nice shine. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. The neck and fretboard are both clean with clean frets. The frets show a hint of wear on the first few but the rest look basically untouched. This has zero issues with the frets because they are in such good shape. There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets. This is definitely in great shape. The case is in good shape but the lock is broken. Everything else is sturdy and functional and the case also looks great.

Set Up

We also professionally set up every banjo that comes through here. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. This has a pro quality bridge and the banjo has correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely. This also is fully adjustable with the dual coordinator rods and the truss rod. This is the most popular model of Gibson Banjo and it has been professionally cleaned and set up to look, play and sound its best.
