2001 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard LEFT HANDED 5 string Banjo

This is an ultra rare Left Handed 2001 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Banjo.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a curly maple neck and resonator each with w/b/w binding.  The fretboard is ebony with a hearts and flowers inlay.  The hardware is nickel and includes a one piece flange and a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring.  The flange is not marked Gibson USA so I am assuming that is not original but the rest of the hardware is including an original Gibson Presto Tailpiece.

The fact this is a lefty is huge, these are very rare as Left Handed models and all of the lefty’s were custom orders.  This has an original Gibson hardshell case as well.

Condition

The banjo is in fantastic shape and has been professionally cleaned at our shop.  We disassembled the banjo and buffed all of the metal with a high powered buffing wheel to a nice shine.  The finish has all been waxed and also shines.  I cleaned and oiled the fretboard and the frets look great with spikes at the 7th and 9th frets.  This is in stellar condition and is glowing and the case is clean as well.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a new Huber bridge and the intonation is set.  The strings are new Huber truetone .10 gauge strings and this is a stellar player.  This is an exceptionally difficult banjo for a lefty to find and this has been properly cleaned and set up so it looks, plays and sounds it’s best.
