This is a gorgeous Gibson RB18 Top Tension Banjo that is all original with the original case. This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is an absolutely gorgeous Gibson RB18 top tension. We believe this was the 3rd RB18 made by Gibson but we have yet to confirm that. This has curly maple with gold engraved hardware. The neck is also curly maple and this has a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has some really attractive inlay along with the headstock. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator with black pinstripes. All of the hardware is engraved including the arm rest and tailpiece. This banjo is truly gorgeous and was very well taken care of. If you don’t know a top tension banjo puts out a considerably louder and more present sound. Top Tensions are the kings of volume. This banjo will be heard and turn heads when you take it out to play. This also includes an original Gibson hardshell case.

Condition

This banjo is immaculate. This was very well taken care of. The gold looks fantastic and the all of the finish is clean. The finish on the neck is also clean and the fretboard is clean as well. The frets show almost no wear and the wear which is there is only on the first few frets. There are spikes at the 7th-10 frets. Everything about this banjo is clean and this truly looks exceptional. The original case is also super clean.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse. This has nice string height (action) and correct intonation. The head is set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around. This has a Remo Frosted head and new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. This looks great, sounds great and is professionally set up.
