Description

The Earl Scruggs Standard is a copy of the Banjo played by Earl Scruggs for years. That was a Pre War Granada which had the hardware changed to nickel and the fretboard changed to ebony. This is a Left Handed Copy of that Banjo and is all Factory Original, very rare, includes the original case and is set up and ready to go.

This has a curly maple neck and resonator with an ebony fretboard that has a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern. The hardware is nickel and all original and includes a Gibson USA one piece flange and a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring. This banjo has a great deal of pop which all of the post 1987 Scruggs Standards have and is also a loud banjo that plays fantastic.

This also includes the original hardshell case.

Condition and Set Up

This banjo is in fantastic shape and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. There is one section of the tension hoop that the nickel wore off the hoop. That is directly to the right of the neck heel at the top of the hoop and is pictured. The rest of the banjo is gorgeous and near perfect.

The banjo has been disassembled and the hardware has been polished to a shine. The wood and finish are in great shape and have been waxed to a shine as well. The frets and fretboard are also in great shape and there are spikes at frets 7,9,10 and 12. This banjo is gorgeous and the original case is in good shape also.

The banjo has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this banjo is a phenomenal player. This is a very hard to find banjo considering it is a lefty and is all original. This is set up and ready to go, looks great, sounds great and is a dream to play.
