2002 Gibson RB4 5 string Banjo

This is a gorgeous 2002 Gibson RB4 5 string Banjo with an original hardshell case.  This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell.  The hardware is nickel and this has a burled walnut resonator.  The neck is also walnut with a rosewood fretboard.  The fretboard has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern.  This has w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator (white with black pinstripe).  This has all original hardware with the exception of the tailpiece which is a Presto copy.  This has an original one piece armrest and an original Gibson USA flange.  The tone ring is a Kulesh Tone ring that is also stamped Gibson USA.  This includes an original hardshell case as well.

The RB4 is a very special banjo that has a haunting and dark tone.  These are definitely unique and are also somewhat rare.  This particular banjo looks fantastic and has got all of the tone that one is to expect out of one of these.

Condition

This is gorgeous and was clearly well taken care of.  The wood and finish look fantastic.  This also has super clean metal which has a really nice shine.  The neck and fretboard are also clean with overall clean frets.  The first few frets do show a bit of wear but that is it.  This has no buzzing at all from this minimal fretwear.  There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets.  This definitely is a gorgeous and super clean banjo that also has a gorgeous original hardshell case.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has a new Huber frosted head that has been set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is also a new Huber bridge.  The banjo has correct intonation.  The strings are also new Huber strings and this is set up to play fast with some killer tone and volume.  This is a gorgeous banjo that is professionally set up that any player would be thrilled to own.
