2003 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard 5 string Banjo

This is an all original 2003 Earl Scruggs Standard that is very clean. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

The Earl Scruggs Standard is a copy of the banjo played by Earl Scruggs. Earl played a Granada with nickel hardware and an ebony fretboard with a Hearts and Flowers inlay. That is what this banjo is. These are the most popular model for Gibson Banjo (at least the best selling).

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a curly maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is ebony. The hardware is nickel and all original including a Gibson USA one piece flange and a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring. The banjo is all original and is in really good shape. This also includes a very clean original hardshell case.

Condition

This is in great shape and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. The hardware has been disassembled and buffed with a high powered buffer. The hardware is very clean and basically looks new. The finish has been waxed to a shine and also looks great. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled and also looks fantastic. The frets are very clean and there are spikes at frets 7 and 9. This is in fantastic shape and also has a clean original case.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. The head is a new Remo frosted head and is set to 90. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the banjo is playing great. This is set up with nice action and is a stellar player.

This is one of the nicest possible examples of a Scruggs Banjo in regards to condition. This is all original and super clean and set up and ready to go!
