2004 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard 5 string Banjo

This is a beautiful Earl Scruggs Standard with a repaired resonator. This has been inspected, cleaned and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

The Earl Scruggs Standard is a copy of the banjo that was played by Earl Scruggs. This is a Granada with nickel hardware and an ebony fretboard. This particular banjo has a repaired crack on the bottom of the resonator which is a professional repair. There are pictures of this repair. The banjo is definitely stunning and this repaired resonator is no longer any kind of issue.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The neck and resonator are curly maple with w/b/w binding. The fretboard is ebony with a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern. The headstock also has inlay. The hardware is all original and nickel. This includes a Gibson USA one piece flange and a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring. The banjo is all original and includes a very nice case.

Condition

Other than the crack the banjo is stunning. The crack is not only professionally repaired it is on the bottom of the resonator so you would never see it. There are also 2 pin size holes on the side of the neck in the binding which are left from a 5th string capo which was removed. This has no spikes.

The frets and fretboard are in great shape all the way down. The hardware has all been disassembled and buffed to a nice glow. The wood has been waxed to a shine as well. This banjo definitely is beautiful and has a nice hardshell case.

Set Up

This has also been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a new Huber frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a new Huber bridge. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this plays great and sounds incredible. This is LOUD with a very nice cut and smooth tone. This definitely is a phenomenal instrument.
