2004 Gibson RB4 Banjo 5 string Banjo

This is an all original and clean Gibson RB4 with an original hardshell case. The banjo has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is a burled walnut banjo with a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The hardware is nickel and is all original. This has a walnut neck with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern. There is white binding with a black pin stripe on each side of the neck and resonator. The armrest is a one piece armrest and this has a Presto Tailpiece. This is also clean and includes an original hardshell case.

Condition

This is truly gorgeous with limited wear. The hardware is glowing. The finish on the resonator is curling a little bit and is showing some very light “finish cracking”. This is definitely minor but is there and I have some closeups. The neck is in great shape and the fretboard is also clean. The frets are clean with only limited wear on the first few. This is absolutely in solid and clean, fully functioning condition. The original hardshell case is also clean.

Set Up

The banjo has been set up here at the shop and sounds and plays great! The string height is set correctly and this has proper intonation. The head has been set to 90 on a drum dial. This has a new Huber Frosted Head. The bridge is a Snuffy Smith bridge with an ebony cap. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.
