This is an all original and clean 2006 Gibson JD Crowe Blackjack 5 string Banjo. This includes the original Gibson Hardshell Case. This is also Hand Signed by JD Crowe. All of our banjos are set up here at the Banjo Waehouse.

Description

This is a Mahogany banjo with a 3 ply Hard Rock Maple rim. The hardware has been copper flashed. This adds a very distinct and cutting tone to the banjo. The neck is also mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a special inlay pattern which is gorgeous. The headstock is also inlaid and there is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. The armrest, tailpiece and tension hoop are all engraved. The engraving is similar to some granada patterns. The armrest is a one piece armrest and the tailpiece is a Gibson The shell is also hand signed by JD Crowe which is a huge plus. The banjo has spikes on the 7th-10th frets. This also includes a very clean original Gibson Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in truly gorgeous condition. The banjo is absolutely stunning. The finish looks incredible all over. There is a small amount of the copper that has worn off but it’s small. The finish and hardware both look incredible. The fretboard is clean and the frets are also super clean. This is a very special banjo. This has no functional issues, no damage, no repairs and no cosmetic issues that are beyond extremely minor. The original case and the JD Crowe signature are both also very clean.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse. The banjo has proper intonation. The action is comfortable for playing and the banjo has lots of tone. This is also a loud banjo. This has a new Huber Frosted Head. The bridge is a Gary Sosebee Bridge. The strings are also new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The head has been set to 90 all the way around. This is a fantastic playing banjo that sounds phenomenal.
