2008 Gibson RB250 Banjo

Description

This is a mahogany banjo with nickel hardware.  The neck is also mahogany with an ebony fretboard.  The fretboard has a leaves and bows inlay pattern.  There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.  The headstock has nice inlay including the Gibson logo.  This banjo is all original.  This includes a clean aftermarket hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is definitely in good shape but there are some light signs of wear. There is some sort of smudge on the face of the headstock.  The hardware has some light age and tarnish.  The finish itself looks fantastic.  The fretboard is clean and the neck is straight.  The frets show only light wear on the first few frets and I do mean light.  The frets almost look untouched but there is some minor wear.  There are no spikes and no 5th string capo.  That is a plus because the fretboard is clean.  We can add spikes for no charge.  The case is also in great shape.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  The action is set for comfortable playing and great volume and tone.  The banjo has proper intonation.  The head is set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head.  This has a new Huber Frosted Head and new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.  The bridge is a Scorpion Bridge.  The RB250 is the Workingman’s Gibson Banjo only because of the price.  This banjo is nearly identical to an RB3.  This is set up to sound and play wonderfully and will make any banjo happy!
