2008 Gibson Granada 5 string Banjo

This is a stunning 2008 Gibson Granada that is all original with the original case.  This has been fully inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is truly a beautiful Banjo.  This has upgraded Amber Buttons but the original buttons are in the case.  This is gorgeous, all original and is a powerful banjo as well.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a flame maple neck and resonator.  The fretboard is rosewood with a Flying Eagle inlay pattern and more inlay on the headstock.  The side of the neck and resonator each have w/b/w binding which has almost not yellowed at all.  The hardware is gold with an engraved armrest, Presto tailpiece and tension hoop.  The gold looks fantastic.  The tuners are original with new amber buttons which are a really nice detail.  The original buttons are in the case.

This is a beautiful banjo that was made near the end of Gibson Banjo Production.  This also has a nearly untouched original hardshell case.

Condition

This is in gorgeous condition.  The gold looks fantastic with only minimal age.  This is really good looking gold that is also completely intact.  The finish is also remarkable.

There are 2 scratches on the back of the resonator which are both very small.  These cannot be seen unless you get up close and they are pictured on the Banjo Warehouse site.  From a distance you can see nothing but a gorgeous coat of finish.  In addition there is some light aggravation in a couple of the plies on the shell which is located under the tailpiece.  There is also a picture of this.  This is not damage and is normal and does not effect anything.

The fretboard is clean with clean frets.  There are spikes at the 7th, 9th and 10th frets.  This is not only a gorgeous banjo but the original case is also in fantastic shape.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.  This has a Remo frosted head which I believe is the original head.  The head is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is a Grover bridge and is set with correct intonation.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely.  This also is adjustable.  This banjo is not only beautiful this is a powerful banjo that is set up to sound and play great!
