Description

Warren Yates has mastered the art of the reproduction of the “Pre War” style Banjo. He makes nearly all if not every part that is on each of his banjos. This allows Yates banjos to be much more accurate repros then a Pre War style banjo using standard modern hardware. He also relics all of his banjos which gives them the vintage Pre War look.

This has a maple shell with a maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood with some nice inlay. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This has a no hole unplated tone ring which really gives this some pop!!! This banjo definitely has some nice pop and volume with killer tone and could be compared to a good quality TB1 conversion. The banjo is all original and includes a hardshell case.

Condition

This is in great shape considering it was factory relic’d, there is very little playwear and the banjo is definitely in great shape. All of the hardware was relic’d so it does appear aged but the hardware itself is in great shape. No breaks or bends etc. This has a speed neck so the finish on the back of the neck has been sanded off and the resonator finish is in good shape. The frets are in fantastic shape and there are spikes at frets 7,8,9 and 10. The case is in good shape as well.

Set Up

The banjo has the original Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Yates bridge and this has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. This banjo is phenomenal and has been set up for the banjo to operate at it’s best!!
