2010 Gibson RB3 Wreath 5 string Banjo

This is a clean 2010 RB3 Wreath that was made the last year of Gibson Banjo production. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

Gibson stopped making banjos in 2010 as the result of a flood and this was made the last year of production.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The neck and resonator are both mahogany. This has nickel hardware and is all original. The fretboard is rosewood and this has a wreath inlay pattern. This has a one piece armrest and a Gibson Presto tailpiece. The wreath inlay pattern is definitely significant and this is the banjo that most players want when they buy an RB3.

The tone ring is a mystery ring but it is the original ring. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. The face of the headstock also has wreath inlay along with the Gibson logo. This is all original and also includes an original case. The combination lock on the case is yet to be set and the case is in great shape. This is a powerful banjo that has the classic wreath inlay pattern.

Condition

This has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. The metal has been disassembled and buffed to give it a very nice shine. All of the wood and finish have been waxed and the fretboard has been oiled. The neck and fretboard are both clean and the frets are clean as well. There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets. This is clean all the way around and the original case is also clean. This banjo is absolutely gorgeous and will turn heads.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. The banjo has a Huber head which has been set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a Scorpion bridge and this has correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely. This is also adjustable. This is a great example of an RB3 wreath that is clean and set up and looks great, sounds great and plays great.
