2012 Nechville Diamond Joe Number 1
This is the first Diamond Joe that was built by Nechville. This was built for Sonny Smith in 2012 and includes a Letter of Authenticity. This is a gorgeous flamed maple banjo with the Nechville Heli Mount system. The neck is also flamed maple and the fretboard is ebony. The fretboard features gorgeous Diamond inlay. There is a diamond binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This also has a nice wood armrest which is very comfortable. The banjo is all original.
Condition
The overall condition is definitely good. There is a bit of tarnish on the pot metal underneath the heli mount system. I believe that is the tone ring. The wood is in great shape. It still has a nice lustre to the finish. The headstock and tuning keys are in fantastic condition. And the hardware (other than the tarnish on the tone ring) also looks great. This is set up and the neck plays fast!! This has a lot of tone. The frets are also in overall great shape but there is light wear on the first few frets. I want to emphasize that is light wear. And only on the first few frets. This is in great shape with minimal wear and plays and sounds incredible. The Superior case is also in great shape.
