This is a Huber VRB4 Truetone with a chrome hardware upgrade. This banjo has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

Steve Huber is making some of the finest banjos being made today. He specializes in reproducing the Pre War Banjo Tone that so many people obsess over. This banjo is a Truetone which is his top of the line for function and includes a Truetone Shell and a Huber HR30 tone ring. This banjo also has a chrome hardware upgrade which is the type of metal found on Pre War Gibson RB4 Banjos, which this is a copy of.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a walnut neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood with a Flying Eagle inlay pattern. The hardware as mentioned is chrome plated and this is all original. This includes a one piece armrest, one piece flange and a clamshell tailpiece. There is w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This banjo is top of the line and would cost nearly $6000 new with the Truetone shell and ring and the chrome hardware. This also includes a hardshell case.

Condition

This banjo is in exceptional condition and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. This has been disassembled and all of the hardware has been buffed with a high powered buffer. The metal is glowing. The finish has been waxed to a shine as well. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled and the frets and fretboard are in great shape all the way down. There is a bit of wear on the top/back of the headstock which is pictured. The case has a bit of light wear on the outside but not much, the inside is clean and the case has zero structural issues.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a new Huber frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a new Huber bridge. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this banjo is set up really well. This is a fantastic player that has lots of volume as well. This is an extraordinary banjo and if you like the pre war style RB4 design this banjo is screaming your name!!
