Deering 40th Anniversary White Oak #11 of 40
This banjo features a white oak neck and resonator and is individually numbered on the rear of the peg head (#11). It also has a matching white oak truss rod cap that is personally signed by Greg Deering. A commemorative inlay adorns the 22nd fret marking the anniversary at 1975-2015. ‘AAA’ Grade Smokey ebony fingerboard and tortoiseshell binding on the resonator are also featured on this banjo. This has all top of the line materials and is a special edition that honors Greg Deering for the extraordinary contribution he has made to the banjo.
In addition this banjo does not have a tone ring so this is a light weight banjo. This weighs 8 pounds 5.4 ounces. And this banjo sounds exceptional!!!
This is absolutely a special banjo that looks great, plays great and sounds even better. Deering is known for making some of the best banjos in the history of banjo building and this is no exception.
Condition
The banjo is in fantastic condition. There is almost no wear. The finish and hardware are all glowing. The fretboard is super clean and the frets are fat all the way down the board. This is absolutely clean and is well taken care of. The banjo has been set up and plays great and sounds fantastic. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone that wants a light weight banjo. Plus the original hardshell case is clean and this includes a leather Deering strap.
