2019 Pre War Guitar Level 2 Relic Acoustic Guitar

This is a fantastic reproduction of a Pre War D18 that is made by a company called Pre War Guitars. This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This has solid Honduran Mahogany back and sides with a solid Adirondack Spruce top. The top has been Torrefied which is a process of “baking” the top to age it. This produces a sound that is in line with the classic Pre War tone that serious collectors expect. In fact the Pre War Guitars are the absolute best reproductions of Pre War sound that I have ever heard. The fretboard is ebony. The guitar has forward bracing and they use real Hyde Glue to add to the authenticity. The nut is 1 and 3/4 inch.

This guitar is a level 2 Relic which means the Relic job is a level 2. This is not the most extreme relic but this still has been distressed and this has the effect of a guitar that has been played over a long period of time. There are pick scratches by the pickguard and also around the sound hole. This guitar looks great and has the authentic vibe of an aged and played guitar. This not only has a fantastic pre war type tone this also feels like a Pre War Martin. The neck feels great and this could fool a lot of people into believing this was actually an 80 year old instrument. The guitar also has an original case.

Condition

I mentioned that this is a Relic so there is some wear but it came from the factory like that. This shows little actual playwear. The frets look fantastic. This clearly hasn’t been played that much because the frets look so good. The finish looks great and the neck and fretboard are in great shape also. The case is clean as well.

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse and is a fantastic playing guitar. This has all of the tone that is to be expected from a guitar like this and also feels great to play. If you want the Pre War sound without paying Pre War money this is the guitar for you!
