Description

Warren Yates is making some extraordinary Pre War Style Banjos here in the USA. This is a copy of the JD Crowe Banger which is a well known Pre War Gibson Banjo.

This starts out with a torrefied shell which is also a Fat Boy.  The neck and resonator are each mahogany and this has a rosewood fretboard with a Flying Eagle inlay.  There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.

The hardware is nickel and all original and has been distressed or relic’d to look and sound old.  The wood also has been relic’d.  This banjo truly has the vibe, mojo, appearance and tone.

This also has a no hole Yates tone ring.  This produces a lot of extra pop and this banjo is no joke.  This is loud with some rich tone and is a stellar player.  If you want to get a fantastic American Made Banjo with the 1930’s sound this is it.

Condition

Yates Relics his banjos so this was distressed in his shop to look old.  But the banjo was made in 2022 and has barely been touched.  The frets are in perfect shape.  As far as wear from use this banjo is clean even though it was made to look old.  The case is new.

Set Up

This is set up with a Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a yates bridge and this has new Huber strings.  This is a powerhouse banjo that is set up and ready to peel the paint off the walls!!!
