1964 Gibson Country Western Guitar Acoustic Guitar

This is an ALL ORIGINAL 1964 Gibson Country Western Guitar minus a new nut and saddle and frets. This guitar is a stellar player. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is an all solid Mahogany Guitar with a Solid Spruce Top. The guitar is basically all original and has been played well. This really sounds incredible and Sheryl Crow was known for playing one of these. The fretboard is rosewood with trapezoid position markers. There is white binding on each side of the neck and w/b/w/b/w/b/w binding on the top of the guitar. There is white binding on the side of the guitar. The bridge is original but the saddle and nut have been changed. I am assuming this also has new frets. The finish is original which is a great plus.

This is definitely a cool guitar that plays and sounds wonderful. This is the vintage Gibson sound and it plays great!! This also includes an original Gibson Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is definitely a player guitar but for a player this is wonderful. The finish and binding have a nice patina. The top has a fair amount of surface scratching and some checking. The top of the guitar has some minor warping. The top is slightly bellying behind the bridge and it is lightly caving between the bridge and soundhole. This is not major but it is happening. A JLD bridge doctor would probably fix that. This guitar is strong and structurally sound with some minor warping in the top.

The fretboard has been well played. There are some grooves in the wood on the first few frets. Since the frets are new they are in great shape. The headstock neck and back are pretty clean. The sides are pretty clean as well.

This is definitely a well loved player guitar but it is put together to be essentially the perfect player. The case is also pretty worn but structurally sound.
