This is a fantastic Maple style 1 Banjo with some Yates Parts.  This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is a curly maple banjo with a 3 ply hard rock maple shell.  This has a Yates tone ring a Yates neck and a Yates shell.  The neck is also curly maple with a rosewood fretboard.  The fretboard is inlaid with a Seagulls pattern.  There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator with Gibson inlaid on the headstock.  This has a speed neck which means the finish on the back of the neck has been taken off.  This allows for faster playing.  The hardware is nickel and is all professional quality.  This has a one piece armrest and a clamshell style tailpiece.  There are spikes at the 7th-10th frets.

This banjo is a true cannon.  There are so many parts banjos out there that are actually some of the best in the world.  This is a true killer and if you want a $5000 sound for half the price this is it.  This also includes a Gibson style archtop hardshell case.

Condition

This banjo is absolutely in great shape.  The finish on the resonator looks great and is solid.  The finish all looks fantastic.  The hardware is clean as well.  The neck and fretboard are also clean.  The frets do show wear but this does not effect the function at all.  There is no buzzing or any playing issues from the frets.  The banjo is a really good looking banjo on top of sounding incredible.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  The banjo has nice string height (action) which can be adjusted.  The banjo also has correct intonation.  The head has been set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around.  This has a clean frosted Remo Head.  The bridge has a Y which may mean Yates and has an ebony cap.  This is set up with all quality parts and is a dream player as well.  This banjo looks great, sounds great and plays great.  And the price is also incredible.  This is a pro banjo at a mid level price.
