This is a fantastic 5 string Parts Banjo with a Randy Wood neck and First Quality Parts.  This has been set up here and sounds and plays great!!!  This is a great opportunity for someone that wants the classic bluegrass sound but wants to save some money.

Description

This is a maple banjo with a 3 ply hard rock maple rim.  The rim is a Cox rim.  The neck is also maple with an ebony fretboard.  The neck was made by Randy Wood.  The fretboard has a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern.  There is white binding with a black pinstripe on each side of the neck and resonator.  The resonator was made by First Quality Parts.  The tone ring is a Sullivan conversion ring to convert from an archtop to a flathead.  One piece armrest.  This is an exceptional banjo with premium parts that really sounds incredible.  This also includes a hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is in excellent shape.  The finish looks great as does all of the hardware.  The frets are clean but the first few frets do show some wear.  The fretwear does not cause any fretbuzz.  There are spikes at the 7th,9th and 10th frets.  There is some very light checking on the face of the headstock that isn’t visible until you get really close to the headstock.  The case is also clean.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  This plays great with lots of tone and volume.  This has a no name frosted head with a Huber bridge and Huber Truetone strings.  The banjo has correct intonation.  The head is set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head.  This is set up and sounds and plays wonderfully.
