This is a super cool Alvarez Bluegrass Deluxe Banjo that was made in Japan.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

Musical instrument manufacturing in Japan in the 1970’s and 1980’s was phenomenal and there were exceptional instruments being produced at that time.  This is an example of one of those exceptional instruments.

This has a thick multi ply shell.  The neck and resonator are both mahogany and this has an ebony fretboard.  The fretboard has snowflake position markers.  There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.  The hardware is nickel and this is all original.  This has a 20 hole tone ring which is a big plus because this banjo definitely sounds great.  This also is a light weight banjo which is nice if you don’t want to wear your neck and shoulders out while playing.  This is a stellar banjo for the money and this also has a nice hardshell case.

If you are a beginner and want a quality banjo to learn on for under $1000 this would be a great option for you.  This also could work for a more experienced player because this is a quality design.

Condition

We professionally clean every banjo that comes through our shop.  This has been disassembled and all of the metal has been buffed and the wood waxed.  This is absolutely gorgeous and has a really nice glow to it.  The neck and fretboard are also in really good shape.  The first few frets show a touch of wear but not much at all.  The rest of the frets are super clean.  This is absolutely gorgeous and has an overall clean hardshell case.

Set Up

We also professionally set up every Banjo that comes through the shop.  This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is set with correct intonation.  This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely.  This is also fully adjustable.  This is a great opportunity to get a quality banjo at a great price that looks great, sounds great and plays great as well.  Check out Banjo Warehouse for all sorts of interesting New, Used and Vintage Banjos for Sale.
