This is a strong quality Banjo from Japan in the 1970’s that is put together really well and plays and sounds great. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This would be an intermediate level Banjo that came out of Japan. Vintage Japanese Banjos were made with high quality standards and this banjo is a better banjo than some NEW American made Banjos. This is especially true when a professional cleans and sets these up.

This has a mahogany neck and resonator. The hardware is nickel and this has a 2 piece flange. The banjo is all original except for upgraded geared tuners on all 5 strings. This has a rosewood fretboard with dots and white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This is definitely a quality instrument that could be used by any player but this is the perfect beginner banjo. This sounds really good and we have it set up to play very easily. This also includes the original hardshell case.

Condition

This has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. We have disassembled the banjo and we buffed all of the metal to a really nice shine. The wood has been professionally cleaned and that shines as well. The neck and fretboard are in great shape and the frets also look great. There is a light amount of cracking in the binding but it is light and sparse. This is definitely in great shape. The case is structually sound with some wear and one of the hinges is broken. That doesn’t really effect anything. All of the latches work and the handle is strong and the case definitely is fully functional.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. This has a new Huber frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely. This is playing like butter and this also sounds really good.
