Our popular CC-50 has been the open-back banjo for thousands of beginning players for many years. The Gold Tone CC-50RP adds a full-walled resonator and high-quality planetary-gear tuning machines to offer a value-packed first Bluegrass banjo for thousands more. Great sound emanates from the hard rock maple rim topped with a brass-rod tone ring. The flangeless CC-50RP converts easily to an open-back banjo for exploring clawhammer or folk-style playing; pop off the resonator and mounting brackets, and you’re done. Deluxe touches include a rosewood fretboard, Terminator tailpiece, and a geared fifth-string tuning peg. Gold Tone’s expert factory setup ensures great playability sound from the start.

He has played professionally as a guitarist and banjo player with several bluegrass bands ever since. Geoff moved to Atlanta after college and co-founded the Watch and Learn publishing company. They now publish a full line of musical instrument instruction books and digital modules. He also owned several music stores in Atlanta from the 1980s through the mid-2000s and is still an active participant in the musical instrument re-sale community in the southeast.

This 1977 Baldwin ODE Style-C Mahogany banjo is in very good condition with all-original parts. This is one of the rare banjos that was actually made by Baldwin Piano and Organ Company of Cincinnati, Ohio before they were later bought out by Gibson. Spikes on 7,8, and 9 frets. It's a classic, historic instrument.
