This is an early Deering Sierra that is all original with the original case. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

The Deering Sierra is possibly the best affordably priced American Made Banjo. This is a fantastic banjo for the person that wants real quality at a great price. This is all original with the original case and original paperwork.

This has a maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator. The hardware is nickel. The fretboard is ebony. The fretboard has dot position markers and there is an eagle along with the Deering logo on the headstock. This is all original and has a no hole solid tone ring. This banjo sounds great with some nice bark and some good volume. The armrest is a one piece armrest. The banjo also includes an original case. This is the banjo for the player that truly wants more bang for the buck and this is especially true since it is discounted being used.

Condition

We professionally clean every banjo that comes through here and this looks great. We disassembled all the metal and buffed it to a shine. The hardware glows. All of the wood has been cleaned and waxed which also gives it a shine. The fretboard has been oiled so it feels great to play and also looks great. There are spikes at the 7th, 9th and 10th frets already. This looks great. The case is sort of dirty on the outside but it has no functional issues and is clean on the inside.

Set Up

We also professionally set up every banjo that comes through here. This has a new Huber frosted head which has been set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a Snuffy Smith Bridge and this has correct intonation. This is strung with new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely. This is also fully adjustable. The banjo is a great value that has been professionally cleaned and set up so that it looks, plays and sounds it’s best.
