Description

This is a Banjo that was made with the specs of the Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard with a combination of original Gibson Banjo Parts and original Huber Hardware. This is a fantastic instrument from a functional perspective, this does deliver Gibson Tone and is perfect for the player looking for a Scruggs Banjo at a discount.

The shell is an original Gibson JD Crowe RB75 Maple shell. This has the original Gibson label and serial number stamp. The neck and resonator are both original Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard parts and are curly maple with w/b/w binding. The fretboard is ebony with a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern.

All of the hardware except the tailpiece is what Huber uses on his banjos. The tone ring is a Huber HR30 tone ring. The flange, tension hoop and the hooks and nuts are Prucha hardware which is what you find on Huber Banjos. The tailpiece is a Presto Copy.

The case is a really nice archtop hardshell case. This is a super package all the way around.

Condition

This banjo is in fantastic shape. All of the hardware is new so that looks killer. The finish is in great shape and has been waxed for a shine. There is a scratch on the back of the resonator which is pictured but is also minor. The finish looks great. The frets are in fantastic shape and there are spikes at frets 7 and 9. The case is also in great shape inside and out.

Set Up

This has been set up with a new Huber frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge and strings are both Huber as well. This is a killer banjo for the money and has been professionally detailed and set up for maximum performance.
