This is a gorgeous pre owned Gold Tone OB250+ which is a professional grade banjo at an affordable price.

The “plus” in the OB-250+ is the ultra-premium JLS #12 tone ring. Developed by master caster Jim Stull of San Antonio, Texas, this ring is the result of years of analyzing many pre-WW ll G-word tone rings to ascertain the formula of the bronze alloy used to make them the sought-after pieces of hardware they’ve become. This long-skirt tone ring improves the contact between the neck, the rim and the tone ring, increasing the transmission of energy from the pot to the neck. It mimics the tone of the costly originals at a tiny fraction of the original’s cost. The OB-250+TP adds the phenomenal Tony Pass/Schaefer birch (recovered from the bottom of Lake Superior) block-style rim for even MORE powerful tone. Includes hard shell case.

The banjo is a curly maple banjo with a curly maple neck.  The fretboard is rosewood with a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern.  There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.  The arm rest is engraved with Gold Tone and really looks great!

This is all original and in fantastic shape with an original Gold Tone hardshell case.

Condition

This is definitely in great shape.  The finish is clean with almost no signs of use.  The hardware glows.  The neck is straight with clean finish and a clean fretboard.  The frets are in great shape with minimal wear on only the first few frets.  There are spikes at frets 7-10.  The banjo has been set up and plays and sounds incredible.  This is truly a professional grade banjo.  The original hardshell case is also clean.
