Description

This banjo is a copy of Casey Henry’s Pre War Style 11 Banjo.  This was made by Robin Smith at Heartland Banjos.  This is a Kel Kroydon that features the classic pearloid that was popular in the 1930’s and also has a really cool look.  Robin Smith died not too long ago which has made anything he made nearly impossible to find.

This has a pearloid neck and resonator, even the fretboard is pearloid.  There are some  very attractive designs in the pearloid on the fretboard and back of resonator.  The resonator has curly maple sides.  The hardware is nickel and includes a one piece flange and a 20 hole Dannick Tone Ring.  The tailpiece has Kel Kroydon engraved and is a super cool tailpiece. The Banjo is all original.

There are not many of these Kel Kroydon Banjos by Robin Smith floating around.  This banjo is in great shape and includes a nice Guardian Hardshell Case.

Condition

This banjo is in gorgeous condition.  The hardware is glowing, absolutely glowing.  The neck and resonator and fretboard are in fantastic shape as well.  The frets are in great shape and there are spikes at frets 7,9 and 10.  This banjo is beautiful and the case is beautiful as well.

Set Up

This has been set up with a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Timeless Bridge and this has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.  This banjo is incredible and is set up for maximum performance.
