Description

This is a Recording King M5 Banjo that was made in USA. This is a Greg Rich design and is a high quality American Made Banjo.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a curly maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood with some very nice inlay. The headstock also has inlay including the Recording king logo.

The hardware is nickel and all original including a one piece flange and an original tone ring. The banjo is beautiful and sounds fantastic. This is a very similar design to the Gibson Earl Scruggs 49 Classic. The banjo comes in a Deering Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in superb condition. The finish on the resonator is super clean and has a nice shine. There is some wear on the top of the back of the neck but the rest of the neck finish looks great. The hardware also is glowing all the way around with some wear on the armrest. This banjo is overall very clean.

The fretboard is super clean and the frets are nearly perfect. This has spikes at frets 7 and 9. The case is also super clean.

Set Up

This is set up with a new Remo frosted head set to 90. The bridge is a Grover and this has new Huber strings. The banjo is a stellar player and is set up for easy playing and strong volume and tone production.
