Martin Vega VIP 5 string Banjo MADE IN USA

This is an American made Martin Banjo from the 1970’s.  The banjo is all original except for an added 5th string capo.  These are rare banjos and are fantastic for the price!!  The banjo is straight maple with nickel hardware.  The neck is also maple with a rosewood fretboard.  The fretboard has very attractive inlay and the headstock also has inlay with a Vega logo.  Martin and Co is on the back of the headstock.  This has a light weight Vega tone ring and the banjo weighs only 9 pounds and 8 ounces.  This also includes a vintage hardshell case which was probably bought with the banjo.

Condition

The banjo is in fantastic condition.  The finish looks great and the hardware is clean.  The neck is straight and the banjo really plays great!  This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  This is a fast playing banjo with a good bit of volume.  The frets are clean all the way down the fretboard.  There are no spikes but there is a 5th string capo.  The vintage case is also clean. The banjo looks great, plays great and sounds great and is a fantastic deal for what you get.
