Description

Mitch Meadors is using his expertise in Pre War Gibson Banjos to produce some designs that are phenomenal examples of Pre War Replica Banjos. This is the Joe Dean signature edition and features the .38 Special Tone Ring, Block Rim and .38 Special Tailpiece.

This has a very nice block rim and a mahogany neck and resonator. The hardware is nickel and all original including a .38 Special Tone Ring and an original one piece flange. The fretboard is rosewood with a Flying Eagle inlay and there is white binding on the neck and resonator. This is a true Pre War Replica that is all original and in great shape. The banjo also has a vintage Gibson Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in great shape and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. This has been disassembled and all of the metal buffed to a glow. The wood has been waxed and also shines. There are a couple of yellow spots in the binding on the resonator from a strap which are pictured. That is the most serious wear on here. This banjo is gorgeous.

There is some light scratching on the back of the resonator and a couple of very minor nicks in the wood as well.

The frets and fretboard are in great shape and the fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. This is beautiful and has been well taken care of with a clean case. The banjo has spikes at the 7th, 9th and 10th frets.

The case has some wear and is missing a latch but it is absolutely functional.

Set Up

This has also been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. The head is a new Huber Frosted Head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Sosebee Bridge which is correctly set. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this banjo plays GREAT. This is a powerful banjo that is a thrill to play.
