Mitch Banjo 5 string Maple

This is a maple version of the Mitch Banjo. Mitch Banjos are made in the spirit of the pre war banjo and this is a great example of that.

Description

This is a curly maple banjo with nickel hardware. The neck is also curly maple with a rosewood fretboard. This has w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator (white with black pinstripe). The fretboard has a flying eagle inlay pattern. This has a one piece flange, Presto tailpiece and a one piece armrest. This is all original. This also includes the Mitch Tone Ring Mate which does wonders for the sound of a banjo. These are not that well known but people who know these love these.

Condition

This is in overall really good shape. There is a repaired crack on the side wall of the resonator which is a few inches long. That has been repaired but the repair is visible.

Other than the repair this is gorgeous. The wood and finish look great and the hardware shines bright. The neck and fretboard are also clean. The frets have almost no wear and what is there is only on the first few frets. There are spikes in frets 7-9. This has a speed neck which many consider an upgrade because it does help playing speed. This is a great clean banjo with a clean hardshell case.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a clean Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a Sullivan Old Growth bridge with an ebony cap. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The banjo is set up with nice action which is adjustable and correct intonation. This is a great example of a very cool banjo that has been set up to play and sound fantastic.
