This is a stunning banjo that is a true work of art.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is an absolutely gorgeous banjo that has so much work it looks like a $10,000 banjo.

This has a curly maple neck and resonator with gold hardware.  That alone makes this a gorgeous piece.  The fretboard is rosewood.  There is some beautiful abalone work on the fretboard featuring a vine with flowers.  Each side of the neck and resonator have abalone binding and there are two strips of abalone binding on the back of the resonator as well.  The back of the resonator has a gorgeous mountain range with trees which I am not sure the technique that did that but it looks like inlay, and may be.  There is an additional abalone rope on the back of the resonator so the resonator has a whole lot of bling.

The armrest is engraved and the tailpiece is a clam shell tailpiece.  The headstock also has abalone featuring the Morgan Monroe logo.  There is also a strip of abalone around the edge of the headstock.  The tuners are gold so this is beautiful all over.

This piece is just incredible and it’s amazing that this can be bought under $2000.  This also is a great sounding banjo and is set up to play.  This includes a hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is definitely in phenomenal condition.  The tone ring and flange are gorgeous and the gold is still vibrant.  The tension hoop has lost some gold but it is clean and does still have gold on it.  The armrest and tailpiece and all of the lugs also look fantastic.  The wood also looks incredible.  The neck and fretboard are definitely clean and the frets have minimal wear.  There is a tiny spot at the end of the fretboard on the right corner where a very small piece of binding came off which was reattached but it is so small I don’t think I could get a picture.  Most people would never notice it.  The binding has been reapplied.

This is definitely super clean and really looks great.  The hardshell case is also clean.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.  This has a new Huber frosted head which has been set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is an Arthur Hatfield and this has correct intonation.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely.  This is fully adjustable as well.  This is truly a work of art and is also a quality banjo that has been set up to sound and play like a dream.
