This is a gorgeous Morgan Monroe Rocky Top 5 string Banjo with Gold Hardware. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is an absolutely gorgeous Banjo and Morgan Monroe is known for making high quality instruments at low prices.

This has a block maple shell with a curly maple neck and resonator. The hardware is gold plated. This has a rosewood fretboard with some really nice flower inlays. The neck has white binding on each side and there is w/b/w binding on each side of the resonator. The armrest is not just gold plated it is also engraved and this has a clam shell tailpiece. The tone ring is a gold plated 20 hole full size tone ring which does a lot for the tone. This also has carving on the back of the neck at the neck heel which is beautiful. On top of all of this the banjo also has the original case.

This is a stellar banjo for the money and not only looks great but plays and sounds incredible.

Condition

The banjo is in really good shape. The gold does have some tarnish but it still looks good. The wood looks great, we have waxed the neck and resonator and they have a nice shine. The fretboard has been oiled and is in good shape along with clean frets. There are no spikes or 5th string capo but we can add those if you want. The banjo is definitely in good shape and the case is also clean.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The action is set nicely and is fully adjustable. This is set up to play and sound great.
