Nechville Phantom Banjo 5 String

This is a super cool Nechville Phantom 5 string Banjo.  The 5th string is tunneled through the fretboard.  This causes no 5th string tuner halfway down the neck for ease of play!  The Banjo has been set up and inspected here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This banjo features the Nechville Heli Mount System.  This allows for easy modification of the pot set up.  It really is cool and you can find more info at www.nechville.com.

In addition the Phantom has a feature that hides the 5th towards the nut under the fretboard.  This is a really good idea because the function of playing the neck is much easier.  The string comes out right past the nut and the tuner is on the headstock.

The banjo is curly maple with a curly maple neck.  The fretboard is ebony with a really cool inlay pattern.  The neck has black and white inlay going down each side.  Nechville is inlaid on the headstock.  This is definitely a cool and very innovative banjo.  This is the easiest banjo to set up by a long shot.  The head can be changed in a matter of minutes!!!  This also includes a tweed hardshell case and the Nevhille set up tools for the Heli Mount system and owner’s manual.

Condition

The banjo is in really good shape, really good.  The finish is all clean. The wood really is in great shape.  The metal on the Heli Mount is also clean.  The neck and fretboard are both in great shape.  The frets are clean all the way down with a minor bit of wear on the first few frets.  This is definitely a really clean banjo.  The hardshell case is also clean.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  The string height (action) is great.  This is a great playing and sounding instrument.  This has proper intonation.  The head is set to 90 and that is perfect.  The Heli Mount system sets all points of the head up evenly and perfectly.  This has a new Huber Frosted Head and new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.  The bridge is compensated with an ebony cap.
