New Stuart 5 string Banjo Maple

Stuart Banjos is a new builder that has been building for less than a year. This is a Maple example of a Stuart Banjo. The banjo does have some good quality parts and is made here in the USA.

Stuart 5 string Banjo Description

This is an ok banjo for someone that wants an American made 5 string. This has a Cox Resonator, a Davis rim and fretboard, Golden Gate hardware and a neck which is made by Stuart Banjos. This has planetary tuners which is nice.

The banjo is maple and the neck has a rosewood fretboard. There is some sort of flower inlay pattern going up the fretboard. For some reason Stuart Banjos did not include a truss rod cover and one of the coordinator rods is missing a washer. I’m sure he will provide those parts at no charge. There is an extra layer of finish over the headstock and neck heel. This looks sort of odd but Stuart Banjos claims that is to preserve the quality of the headstock and neck heel. That could be a good idea.

Stuart Banjos also said this was a speed neck which it sort of is. There is a lighter coat of finish on the back of the neck than at the head and the heel. And it probably does play a bit faster than a normal amount of lacquer. But this is not a true speed neck because there is still some finish. This includes a new Dean alligator skin hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is new and in unplayed condition.

Set Up

The banjo has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse. The banjo has nice playing action with some good tone. This isn’t a very loud banjo but it isn’t quiet either. Definitely a good pop and cut. This has a Remo Frosted head and a Snuffy Smith 5/8 bridge. If someone wants an American Made Banjo this was made in America. CALL TODAY 404-372-5482
