This is a Pre Owned Recording King RKR35 with a hardshell case. This has been fully inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

The Recording King Banjos are designed by Greg Rich who was the mastermind behind the reissuing of all of the original Pre War Gibson Banjos. This was made in the style of the Pre War Banjo and is a phenomenal banjo. Especially for the money.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The neck and the resonator are both maple. This has a rosewood fretboard with seagull inlay. This has all original parts except for an armrest which we added. This has a full size 20 hole tone ring and all of the hardware is nickel plated. This banjo has a tremendous amount of sound and volume and is amazing that it can be bought for under $1000!!! This also has a hardshell case.

I have had people come to the shop to buy Gibson Banjos and leave with a Recording King. The value is incredible on these Recording King Banjos and I also know professionals that use these. This is a stellar banjo for the person that wants a great sound at a great price.

Condition

We professionally clean almost every banjo that comes through our shop. This has been disassembled and all of the hardware has been buffed and the wood waxed. This banjo was already in good shape but now it basically looks new. The armrest has some minor scratching which is the only scratching anywhere on the banjo. The neck and fretboard are clean with clean frets and the fretboard has been oiled. This is absolutely beautiful and even the frets show little wear. Only the first few frets have any wear, the rest are perfect. There are no spikes or 5th string capo. The case is also clean.

Set Up

We professionally set up every Banjo that comes through our shop. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is an original Recording King Bridge and this has correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely. This is a great player that sounds wonderful.

This banjo is already a great design but we have professionally cleaned and set this up so it looks, plays and sounds its best.
