Description

The Recording King Banjos come from the mind of Greg Rich who once was the head of the Custom Shop at Gibson. These are designed in the style of the Pre War Flathead Banjo and these are absolutely the best value on a 5 string Banjo.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a Maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood with a style 1 Seagull inlay pattern. This has nickel hardware including a one piece flange and a full size 20 hole tone ring. This is a very powerful banjo for the money and is all original and in really good shape. This is the go to Banjo for the bluegrass player on a budget and I know professionals that use Recording King Banjos on tour. This also includes a new Foamshell Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in great shape with little wear and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. We disassembled the banjo and buffed the metal to look new. The finish all looks great on the neck and resonator. The fretboard is clean with overall clean frets. The first couple frets do have wear but there is no buzzing or any effect from the wear. The headstock has some light surface scratching which is pretty much the extent of the wear. I do have a pic on the Banjo Warehouse site. This is definitely a clean banjo that is in great shape with a brand new case.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. This has a new Remo head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is nice. This also is adjustable with 2 coordinator rods and a truss rod.
