Description
This was the top of the line for the Recording King Banjos not long ago. This model is no longer made and I’m sure the production cost had something to do with that. This is top quality, gorgeous, well worked and is a professional grade 5 string Banjo. If you want to get some heat and save some dollars this is it.
This has a curly maple neck and resonator with an ebony fretboard. The fretboard and resonator each have white binding. There is a variation of Hearts and Flowers on the fretboard which is really cool. The headstock also has white binding and inlay work that takes this all the way.
The hardware is gold and all original and includes a one piece flange and 20 hole Flathead Mastertone style Tone Ring. This banjo is pro all the way around and includes a Recording King Archtop case which is the original case.
Set Up
This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. The head is the original, untouched head and has been set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is set with correct intonation. The strings are set with nice action and this is fully adjustable.
