This is a Pre Owned Recording King RKR80 Banjo that is in exceptional shape.  This has been fully inspected at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

The RKR80 is an absolutely stunning banjo with a crisp and classy appearance.  This is another of the Greg Rich designs which has proven to be of absolute top quality.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator.  The fretboard is ebony.  There is a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern on the fretboard along with more inlay work on the headstock.  This has white binding on the neck, resonator and fretboard.  The hardware is all nickel and all original including a one piece flange.  This is a killer banjo that also includes the original case.

When these were new the cost was $1600 and you cannot buy this banjo anymore.  This is a phenomenal piece that is in excellent all original condition.

Condition

This has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse and is in excellent shape.  The banjo was taken apart and all of the hardware buffed to a nice shine.  The wood has also been waxed and fretboard oiled.  This was clean on the way in but now it basically looks new.  The frets do have some light wear but it’s super light and does not effect any playing.  There are spikes at the 7th-10th frets.  The case looks new.

Set Up

This has also been set up at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has a new Recording King Frosted Head which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is a Dotson Bridge which is properly intonated.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set to play fast with lots of tone and volume.  This is already a fantastic banjo that has been professionally cleaned and set up to be at it’s top performance!
