This is a very rare Sonny Osborne Scout by Recording King. Not many of these exist. This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is a curly maple resonator on a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The neck is curly maple with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has some very nice inlay work along with a Sonny Osborne signature block at the 12th fret. This has nickel hardware. The armrest is a one piece armrest and the tailpiece is a Presto style tailpiece. This is all original. I believe less than 200 of these were made. This is clean as well and includes a Recording King Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in fantastic condition. The finish and hardware all look great. The neck and fretboard are clean with clean frets. This could not have been played much at all. The case is also clean. This is a really good example of a very rare special edition banjo.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a Remo frosted head which is clean. The head has been set to 90 on a drum dial. This has a Gary Sosebee bridge and Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The head and the bridge are definitely upgrades. This has nice string height which is absolutely adjustable. The banjo has correct intonation as well. This is a clean and all original super cool and rare special edition banjo that looks great, sounds great and plays like a professional banjo.
