The Madison RK-R35 gives banjo players a high-quality, great-sounding banjo with a classic Mastertone-style bell brass cast tone ring and one-piece flange. The Recording King Madison RK-R35 is built around the Recordking King 3-ply steam bent maple rim, using the same rim and hardware as in the best-selling RK-ELITE-75 (an $1800 banjo). The maple neck has an adjustable two-way truss rod and a comfortable padauk fretboard. With a 24-hook brass tension hoop, players can enjoy precise adjustment of the head tension. The planetary tuners, geared 5th peg and dual coordinator rods are professional components that add an authentic feel to these impressive banjos. The Madison RK-R35 has a maple resonator with hand-rubbed brown matte finish. The peghead and fretboard feature Recording King’s Seagull inlay, for a banjo that looks as classic as it sounds. The Madison features American threaded nickel-plated hook and nut hardware, presto-style tailpiece and armrest, and comes standard with an authentic Remo head.
RK-R35s do not come with a case or gig bag from the manufacturer. However, The Banjo Warehouse will include a functional hard-shell case with this RK-R35 banjo. It may be used and have some wear.

Geoff Hohwald has been playing banjo since the 1960’s. He became active in the thriving bluegrass community in Ohio as a teenager while studying at Ohio State University. He has played professionally as a guitarist and banjo player with several bluegrass bands ever since. Geoff moved to Atlanta after college and co-founded the Watch and Learn publishing company. They now publish a full line of musical instrument instruction books and digital modules. He also owned several music stores in Atlanta from the 1980s through the mid-2000s and is still an active participant in the musical instrument re-sale community in the southeast.
Banjo Warehouse is a family business resulting from 50 years of experience in music and 40 years of experience in musical instrument retail sales and education. Our focus is on the 5-string flathead banjo, but we also occasionally have a good selection of guitars and mandolins (and other folk instruments).

The Old Tone OT-800 pays homage to one of the most sought-after banjos of the "classic" period (1890 to 1930) when the Boston School of banjo making was the highest expression of the art.

In late 2018, "Banjo Ben" Clark, Jake Stogdill, and Robby Boone had a concept for replicating one of the most iconic banjos, played by one of the most iconic banjo players of all time, JD Crowe's original RB-3 ("Banger").
