This is a Heartland 5 string Banjo which was built by the late Robin Smith.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

Robin Smith developed a reputation for building only the finest banjos and banjo parts.  He passed away recently and his banjos have become extremely difficult to find.  This is a Heartland which was his brand, and this is all original and in fantastic condition.

This has a mahogany neck and resonator.  The fretboard is either ebony with very light brown stripes or rosewood that is very dark.  I think it is rosewood.  The fretboard has a wreath inlay pattern.  The hardware is nickel and all original including a one piece flange and no hole tone ring.  This banjo has a LOt of power and pop and has that peel the paint off the walls banjo tone.  This is all original and includes a hardshell case with some paperwork from Heartland Banjo.

Condition

This is in fantastic shape and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse.  The banjo has been disassembled and all of the hardware has been buffed with a high powered buffing wheel to a shine.  The finish is in fantastic shape and has been waxed to a shine as well.  The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled and the frets are in fantastic shape as well.  There are spikes at frets 7,8 and 9.  The case has some minor wear on the outside but the inside is super clean and the case has no functional issues at all.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse.  The head is a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Huber bridge and this has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.  This is a powerful banjo that has been set up to maximize performance.  Due to Robin Smith passing away this also is a banjo that has become exceedingly hard to find and is available right now, ready to ship.
