This is a gorgeous top of the line Robin Smith built Heartland Banjo.  This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is absolutely gorgeous and is a top of the line banjo with top quality materials.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell.  The resonator is burled walnut and this has nickel hardware.  The neck is flamed maple with a rosewood fretboard.  The neck and resonator each have maple binding on each side which looks really nice.  This has a really classy look.

The fretboard has a wreath inlay pattern as does the headstock.  The tuners are nickel with amber buttons.  I am not kidding when I say this is classy and gorgeous.  This is all original and includes a very nice hardshell case.

Robin Smith was one of the greatest banjo builders that has ever lived and he recently has passed away.  There will be no more Robin Smith banjos built and this is a very very good example of one.

Condition

This is super clean.  The only mark is a short repaired crack on the side wall of the resonator next to the neck heel.  This is minor and the repair is definitely professional.  The finish looks beautiful all over.  The hardware glows from a long distance.  This is an extra clean banjo.  The neck and fretboard are bot clean and the frets look perfect.  There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets.  This was very well taken care of and also has a clean hardshell case.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has a new Huber frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The banjo has correct intonation.  The action is set nicely and is adjustable.  This plays great and the action pulls some great tone out of this.  The fact this is Walnut with Curly maple is a special sound that is dark while sweet at the same time.  This is a top of the line model that is in excellent shape and will make someone very happy.  Very Happy.  Plus no more banjos will be made by the late, great Robin Smith.
