Sullivan Mike Scott Signature 5 string Banjo

This is a gorgeous Sullivan Mike Scott Signature Banjo. This is a fantastic banjo at a fantastic banjo. This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is a curly maple banjo with nickel hardware. The neck is also curly maple with an ebony fretboard. The fretboard has a gorgeous inlay pattern as does the face of the headstock. The headstock has a rosewood peghead overlay. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This has a one piece armrest and a Presto Tailpiece. The tone ring has Mike Scott’s signature on the side. The banjo also has a speed neck so this can really be played fast. This is a truly exceptional banjo and if it said Gibson on the headstock would easily be an extra $1000-$1500 to buy.

Condition

The banjo is clean all the way around. The finish and wood look great. The hardware is clean and really glows. The neck is clean as is the fretboard. The frets have only minor fretwear. This does not effect the function of the banjo at all. This doesn’t have a 5th string capo or spikes but there used to be spikes which were taken out. I have no idea why. There are now holes from the spikes in frets 7-10 which we can replace with new spikes if you would like. This is a clean banjo with a clean hardshell case.

Set Up

The banjo has been set up here at the shop. The banjo has comfortable action which produces a truly wonderful tone. This also has proper intonation. The head has been set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head. This has a Remo frosted head which is clean. The bridge is a Curtis Mcpeake bridge with an ebony cap. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. I am kidding in no way when I say this banjo is exceptional and it sounds and plays wonderful!!
