This is a professional quality Aria Pro 2 Deluxe Banjo that was made in Japan. This has been fully inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

Japanese instrument manufacturers were doing an exceptional job copying American instruments to the point that a famous lawsuit was filed in the 1970’s. The quality of many of the Japanese Banjos made during this time is actually better than similar models from America. This is one of those banjos and I would prefer this to a Gibson Banjo made during the same period.

This has a thick maple shell with a maple neck and resonator. The neck and resonator has a sunburst finish along with RB800 style binding which is really attractive. This has all original nickel hardware including a clamshell tailpiece and a full size 20 hole tone ring and a one piece flange. This banjo has a lot of power and a lot of tone and also is a wonderful player. This also includes a Vintage Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in beautiful condition and has been professionally cleaned at our shop. We disassembled the banjo and buffed all of the hardware to a nice shine. There is a spot on the side of the tone ring that shows some nickel wore down to brass which is pictured. The neck and resonator are in great shape with only minimal sign of any use and have been waxed to a nice shine as well. The fretboard is clean with nearly perfect frets. The first couple frets show a bit of wear but almost none. There are no spikes or 5th string tuner which would explain why the frets are so clean. This is in gorgeous shape and the vintage case shows a bit of wear but is overall clean and absolutely solid.

Set Up

We professionally set this up at the Banjo Warehouse as well. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a Grover bridge which is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely. This also is adjustable.
