Vintage Fender Leo 5 string Banjo

This is a Vintage Fender Leo Banjo with Original Case.  The Banjo has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is a Smoking example of a Vintage Japanese Banjo.  This is the Fender Leo which is a top quality banjo that also happens to be super clean and all original.

This has a thick maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator.  The fretboard is rosewood with a type of leaves and bows inlay pattern.  The hardware is chrome and is all original.  This includes a full size 20 hole tone ring and a 2 piece flange.  The hardware also is gorgeous.

I want to mention the label that was on the inside of the shell has fallen off which is not uncommon and more importantly not any sort of an issue.

There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator and the headstock has some gorgeous inlay to set it all off.  This is a beautiful all original piece with a clean original case.

Condition

This banjo was very well taken care of and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse.  The hardware has been disassembled and buffed to look new.  There is essentially no evidence of wear in the finish and that has been waxed to a shine.  The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled and looks great with clean frets.  There is no 5th string capo and no spikes and there never was.  This banjo was absolutely barely used and the original case is in great shape as well.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse as well.  This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a vintage Grover bridge and the intonation is set.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the banjo is playing wonderfully.  This is set up and looking great and absolutely ready to go.
