The Calico is one of my favorite Deering banjos in this price range. It has an attractive blonde curly maple neck and resonator with nickel plated metal parts including a full-weight brass flathead tone ring.
This Calico has a bright, deep sound. It’s in excellent condition with virtually no wear on the frets or the finish except for a small mark on the headstock. A fifth string capo was installed at some point and as a result there are small screw holes in the neck binding. This instrument includes the original Deering case with a replacement handle.

They now publish a full line of musical instrument instruction books and digital modules. He also owned several music stores in Atlanta from the 1980s through the mid-2000s and is still an active participant in the musical instrument re-sale community in the southeast.

This Stelling Bill Emerson Red Fox banjo came from a private collector and is in excellent condition. The gold plating looks almost brand new, and there is virtually no wear on the edge of the armrest where a banjo player's forearm usually touches. The engraving also looks fantastic. I especially love the holes in the flange that are engraved on the edge.

This longneck openback RB-175 Gibson banjo is from the late 1960s or early 1970s. It has three extra frets which allow banjoists and singers to play in open E.
The Old Tone OT-800 pays homage to one of the most sought-after banjos of the "classic" period (1890 to 1930) when the Boston School of banjo making was the highest expression of the art.
The Fender Leo was made in Japan when the Japanese perhaps made superior banjos to those made in the United States. This Leo was built to Gibson specifications and features a full-size tone ring and a 10-ply shell. It also has pot metal parts and high-quality keys. This particular Fender Leo belonged to an avid collector who had many banjos, so it was rarely played. It includes the original hardshell case.
