Banjo Warehouse is a specialty banjo shop with location in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and we ship nationwide. I’m Geoff Hohwald, and I’ve been buying and selling banjos for over fifty years. When we mark a banjo down, it’s not because something is wrong with it — it’s because we price honestly and move inventory. Every banjo we sell, at every price point, goes through the same professional setup and inspection before it leaves our hands.

If you’re looking for a banjo on sale — whether that’s a great deal on a used instrument, a professionally restored vintage banjo at an accessible price, or a new banjo from a top manufacturer — this is the right place to start.

What Kind of Banjos Do We Sell?

We carry new and used 5-string banjos across a wide range of price points. On the new side, we’re authorized dealers for Deering, Gold Tone, and other respected manufacturers. On the used side, we buy, restore, and resell instruments from Gibson, Stelling, OME, Recording King, Huber, and many others — including vintage banjos that are genuinely hard to find anywhere else.

Our inventory changes constantly. A prewar Gibson, a like-new Deering Sierra, a well-priced Gold Tone OB-3 — these come through regularly, and they sell fast. The best way to know when something new arrives is to be on our email list.

How Are Our Banjos Priced?

We price based on what an instrument is actually worth — its condition, playability, and market value — not on what we paid for it. When we take in a used banjo, our banjo tech Tara goes through it completely: full disassembly, deep cleaning, hardware polish, fresh head, new strings, and a proper setup. By the time a banjo hits our floor or our website, it plays the way it’s supposed to play. That work is reflected in the price, and so is our honest assessment of what the instrument is worth.

We don’t inflate prices to leave room for a fake sale. If something is marked down, it means we’ve decided to move it — and it’s still set up properly and honestly represented.

Yes. Pricing is consistent across platforms. Buying directly through BanjoWarehouse.com means you’re dealing with us directly, which makes communication and any follow-up easier.

How do I know a used banjo has been properly set up?

Every used banjo we sell goes through our full restoration process — disassembly, cleaning, polish, new head, new strings, and a complete professional setup by our banjo tech Tara. We describe condition honestly and are happy to answer questions about any specific instrument.

What financing options do you offer?

PayPal Pay in 4 is available on our website for instruments $1,000 and up, splitting the purchase into four interest-free payments. Affirm financing is available through our Reverb listings.
