The Gold Tone BG-150F is a Gibson-inspired bluegrass banjo that puts the look and feel of the great pre-war instruments within reach at $999.99. Hearts and Flowers mother-of-pearl inlay, a 14″ mahogany resonator, flat flange, dual coordinator rods, and GT planetary tuners. Vintage brown high-gloss finish. This is the banjo that looks like a Gibson and plays like a real bluegrass instrument.
One important note about construction: the BG-150F has a rolled brass flat bar tone ring rather than a full weight bell brass tone ring. This keeps the weight at 8.5 lbs — comfortable for long gigs — while delivering excellent tone and projection. The BG-175F at the same price steps up with Flying Eagle inlays.
